    Co-Owner

    Rich is a second generation co-owner of the Gatto Agency, together with his wife Claudia. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker and Insurance Broker with close to thirty years of experience in both fields. His work has helped maintain the agency as a service oriented small business that has a more personsal approach than larger franchised shops. Rich is a Needham native and graduate of Needham High (1969) and Harvard College (1973/76.) He has been extremely active in Needham town affairs as a former Town Meeting member, Commissioner of Needham Housing Authority, Executive Director of Needham Opportunities, Inc. and coach in the Needham youth sports leagues for many years. His interest in promoting affordable housing opportunities has led him to work closely with Habitat for Humanity, as the former Executive Director of South Shore HFH in Braintree and as an active volunteer currently with Needham Interfaith HFH.

    Owner

    As a third generation owner of a family operated business, Real Estate and Insurance are built into Patrick’s DNA. A licensed real estate and insurance agent, Patrick is devoted to carrying on his family’s legacy of integrity and trust. Making use of cutting edge technology while maintaining old school know-how, he provides clients with a seasoned and knowledgeable advocate. Patrick has a BA in Political Science and International Relations from UMASS Boston and a MS in International Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Creighton Law. With Massachusetts roots dating back to 1636 Patrick has held elected positions in town government and as a representative at state conventions. He enjoys being an active member of the local community like his father and grandfather before him. Patrick spent time in Washington DC working on Capitol Hill and in both the private and non-profit sector running national grassroots campaigns for fortune 50 companies and top 10 advocacy groups. Patrick continues to work as a political consultant. When not working Patrick participates in Christian oriented volunteer service trips to underserved communities including to Haiti, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and the United States including post-Katrina Mississippi. He and his wife Alison, who works in global public health, have two children Brooks and Eve. They enjoy tending their vegetable garden and hiking.

  • Victor E. Gatto, Sr.

    Founder

    Victor Sr. founded the agency back in 1948, after completing his active military service in the Air Force and settling in Needham with his wife, Needham native Muriel Adams Gatto. Victor was raised in East Cambridge, MA and was a graduate of the Cambridge Latin School and Harvard College (1940). Returning from WWII he attended Harvard Business School and took his first job in real estate with the Boston based R.M. Bradlee Company. The original name of his real estate office, Cantabridgia Homes, reflected his Cambridge roots. Victor gave back much energy to the Needham community, serving in Town government and actively supporting church and youth activities for many years. He was proud to be a founding organizer of Needham Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading, along with his friends Phil Claxton, Burt McMullin and Ted Etchings. He was also active in the Air Force Reserve at Hanscomb Field for many years, retiring at the rank of Colonel in 1985. Victor remained active in managing the agency until his death in 1988.
